Begining 1/5/2022 through 2/16/2022 (extended due to cancellations because of weather and feast days) our teens will be joining us for a Life Night seried called "Bad Religion", a Life Teen series about the Goodness of Christianinity.
Bad Religion: Since the beginning of human history, people have felt a pull toward the divine. As people created by God, we have an innate longing to know who God is. Thankfully, God also wants us to know Him, so God reaches out to us. God does this throughout history, and God does this perfectly through Jesus. Through Jesus, God becomes man and shows us what it means to live and worship. Christianity can sometimes be seen as a "bad religion" because of the actions of people, but Christianity and the Catholic faith were intentionally given to humanity by Jesus. Bad Religion is a Life Night series that will reveal Christianity, specifically Catholicism, as personal faith and religious tradition that inspires authentic discipleship of Jesus and evangelization.
To provide teenagers with a Christian environment in which they are encouraged to learn, serve, worship, and share. Activities include retreats, social events, service projects, worship and spiritual development. Open to all high school students. MEETING TIMES/DAYS TBA
The youth ministry at SJV is always looking for adults dedicated to helping our students grow in faith and in community. Without our adult volunteers, youth ministry could not exist, much less thrive. Some of our volunteers contribute weekly by leading small groups, others by chaperoning youth nights, providing meals for teen dinners and more! - With the variety of gifts and experiences our volunteers bring to the table, the possibilities are endless! If you are interested in investing some of your time or talent in our youth ministry, please contact our youth minister, Nicole Olea.
